Introduction
Angermünde lies in the far east of Germany, north-east of Berlin, just 10km from the Polish border. Lying less than 10km from the A11 motorway and with the airports in the Berlin vacinity being relatively close by, despite being so far to the east, Angermünde is still relatively well connected to the country's transport network.The rail station in Angermünde has regular regional services to Stralsund (2hrs), the beach resort on the north coast of Germany. Other direct services include those to Berlin (1hr) and Schwedt (20mins) which is in the Unteres Odertal National Park along the Polish border. Most other Germany cities can be reached relatively easily by changing onto one of the IC or ICE services in nearby Berlin.
