Introduction
Bautzen lies almost on Germany's eastern-most fringe about 20km from the border where Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic meet. Despite being at the edge of the country, it is still well-connected to the transport infrastructure with the A4 motorway passing through the town and Leipzig airport just under 30km away. This airport primarily serves domestic German flight connections, but does also have some international services.The railway station serves local destinations between Dresden, Görlitz and Wroc?aw G?ówny; for all destinations further afield and high speed services, passengers will need to change at Dresden.
