Introduction
Bremen is perhaps one of the most accessible cities in Germany with an airport just 3.5km from the city centre, one of the most modern railway stations in Germany and lying within striking distance of some of the country's main road arteries. From the airport there is a direct service (tram number 6) directly into the centre which departs from outside the terminal every 10 minutes (every 20 minutes after 8pm).If you're coming by car, the easiest route into the city centre is via the Bremen-Arsten or Bremen-Hemelingen exits from the A1 motorway. Once you approach the centre, there is a state-of-the-art traffic management system which will guide you.
As one of Germany's most modern stations (albeit in a beautiful nineteenth century building) with all the latest shops, food outlets and other facilities, InterCityExpress, InterCity/EuroCity and InterRegio trains all arrive at Bremen station which is located right in the centre of the city. BSAG bus and tram services run from the square outside the station, which is just a short walk to some of the focal points including the market square or a five-minute ride by bus or tram to the Domsheide stop (which is where the airport tram stops).
From the station's north exit, it only takes about three minutes to walk to Bremen Arena (Conference centre).
