Whether you like walking through forests or browsing markets, Forbach has plenty to be explored on foot. The local chapel is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as well as a stop on the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. The entire town can be viewed from the hill of Schlossberg, where the castle is located; although the tower was built in 1891 it is believed the castle dates back to at least the 11th century. There are weekly food markets and every spring and summer a circus visits the town.
