Introduction
Halle lies approximately 30km to the north west of Leipzig in central eastern Germany, just off the A14 motorway. It's proximity to Leipzig means that the airport that serves that city is also convenient for visitors to and from Halle being less than 15km away and on a direct tram line.The InterCityExpress services running between Berlin and Munich and those between Koeln and Dresden stop at Halle railway station, so making much of the country very quickly and easily accessible by rail.
Leipzig-Halle S-Bahn (tram network) includes the world's first major electric-powered inner-city tram line and serves Halle (Saale) too; Halle is connected by tram to Leipzig, its airport and Zwickau amongst other destinations.
