Introduction
Le Havre in Normandy, is a port town at the mouth of the River Seine on France's north-western coast, and is connected via overnight ferry to Portsmouth in England. Le Havre nowadays is well-connected to France's motorway network although prior to the building of the A131 which links the town via the Tancarville Bridge to the A13. The A29 motorways also passes close by, whilst Deauville - Saint-Gatien Airport with it's international flight connections, lies just 34km away from the town.Le Havre's railway station lies approximately 2.5km from the port and has frequent departure to destinations including Paris St-Lazare (2h25m) and also Rouen-Rive-Droite (50m). The port and beach is connected to the station and other parts of the town via the Tramway du Havre which operates two tram routes.
