Lying south of the city, Manchester International Airport is the UK’s second largest airport with almost 100 operators flying to and from hundreds of destinations worldwide, including most major cities in Europe, as well as those in North America, South America, Africa, and Asia. Budget carriers including Easyjet, Jet2.com and Ryanair all fly from Manchester International Airport to many European cities.

There are direct train services from the airport station to Manchester Piccadilly and Oxford Road stations every 20 minutes. There also are coaches to Manchester Central Coach station.

By coach / bus

From Manchester’s Central Coach Station, Chorlton Street Coach Station there are coach services to many of the UK’s cities. They are generally the cheapest way to get into Manchester.

National Express offers frequent services which run 24 hours a day from some cities, including London. Stagecoach Megabus is probably the cheapest coach service, with fares from some cities starting at just £1 to Manchester, but you have to book online in advance.

Other services are provided by Arriva Manchester, Finglands Coachways and First Manchester.

Rail:

There are two railway stations in Manchester’s centre: Victoria in the north and Piccadilly in the south. Both stations offer countless services to local destinations as well as other destinations in the UK. Other stations in Manchester are Deansgate/G-Mex, Oxford Road, and Salford Central, but generally they are only served by only local services.

Virgin Trains offer connections from London Euston to Piccadilly. Other train companies that serve Manchester are Arriva Trains Northern, Central Trains, First North Western and Wales & West.
