Introduction

Although Troyes is located within the Champagne region, its claim to fame is knitwear rather than fizz. World famous brand Lacoste has its headquarters here, and there are plenty of discount outlet stores where you’ll find big names for a fraction of their normal price. In between shopping sprees you can visit the Musee d’Art Moderne, which has works by Picasso and Matisse, or walk through the historical centre, populated by 16th century half-timbered houses. Fun fact: in 2010 a board game named after the town was created, where players complete tasks such as working on the cathedral and preparing soldiers for battle.
