The InterCity Slovenia (ICS) trains operate both domestically in Slovenia but also internationally as routes to neighbouring Italy are serviced by the fleet. Their prime purpose initially was to provide a high-speed link between Slovenia's two major cities of Ljubljana (the capital) and Maribor (where the fastest journey time has now been reduced to just 1 hour 45 minutes).
The trains are the three carriage tilting trains which are now popular across much of Europe's high-speed network. The trains are air-conditioned, have onboard catering facilities and are accessible to wheelchair users.
