The Bratislava Marathon is in fact series of races taking place over the course of a weekend, with half marathons, full marathons, a kid’s run, and even an in-line skating race. The yearly races are sponsored by the City of Bratislava and are open to everyone; you can register to participate up to the day before the event takes place. After the hard work is done there is merriment in the form of a fireworks display and live music.

The marathon route is a particularly picturesque one, and local hospitality is always second to none. With entry easier to gain and less expensive than many of the more high-profile marathons across Europe, this is a great race for those wanting a guaranteed marathon entry without the need for huge amounts of sponsorship.

Getting to Bratislava City Marathon by train

The main station is just a few hundred metres to the north-west of the city centre, and is therefore easy to reach for runners and spectators alike. Intercity trains run frequently to many national and international destinations.
