If you fancy immersing yourself in a spot of Czech folklore this annual event is ideal.
If you fancy immersing yourself in a spot of Czech folklore this annual event is ideal. As well as performers demonstrating traditional dances and singing, there is a fair with stalls displaying handicrafts, jewellery, costume-making, decorating Easter eggs and embroidery, as well as plenty of examples of national cuisine. But it’s not only Czech folklore that is commemorated here, as artists from Latin America, the Far East and Europe will also partake. The performances and stalls are situated around the city and take place over a period of six days. All the events are free of charge. It’s understandably busy – nearly100,000 visitors attend each year.
