The Bath Festival

The Bath Festival encompasses over 120 events showcasing literature, music and err, bagpipe bands!

The Bath Festival has taken over from the Bath International Music festival, and now encompasses not only jazz, world music classical, folk and err, bagpipe bands, it also showcases much from the world of literature. You will find everything here from traditional Ceilidhs to opera to chamber music; from best selling authors, to emerging writers.

The festival has roots going back to 1948 and has seen renowned international stars like Paco Peña Company, Ute Lemper and the Sowetto Kinch Quartet. The concerts take place at some magnificent venues, like the Roman Baths, Bath Abbey and the Chapel Arts Centre, ensuring that the backdrops adds further excitement to the music, talks and gatherings.

Most events are ticketed, but there are free performances too.
