Venice International Film Festival
As the oldest of the international film festivals and arguably in the most beautiful of locations, the Venice festival is never short on visitors or stars in attendance!
With its origins back in 1932, the Venice International Film Festival has taken place every year in late August or early September since, on the city island of Lido. The aim of the festival is said by organisers to be to encourage an awareness and promotion of all aspects of international cinema in a spirit of freedom and tolerance.Here the cream of the crop compete for the Golden Lion award which is presented annually to the best film at the festival.
