Westfalenpark Dortmund
Dortmund's green oasis of parkland with plenty to do and see
The Westfalenpark in Dortmund provides beautiful gardens and parkland in the city's central area offering open greenery, beautiful plants and flowers, regular open-air events and festivals, cafes and restaurants and much more. Try your hand at boules, minigolf, beach-volleyball or one of the other leisure activities they have on offer or simply sit back and take in one of the many concerts or theatre performances. It really is a great destination for all the family with plenty to keep children entertained too!As an additional point of interest, Dortmund's TV tower now named Florianturm after Florian, the patron saint of gardeners, also lies in the Westfalenpark. Built in 1959, it is 219 meters tall making it the city's highest landmark. At 144 meters is the second of the two observation points on the tower which provide fabulous panoramas of the city and far beyond. A revolving restaurant at 130 meters also provides very novel surroundings for lunch or dinner!
